Man dies in custody at Kildare Garda Station; investigation under way

A man in his 30s was found unresponsive at Kildare Garda Station and later pronounced dead. Fiosrú said it is independently investigating; it noted that a referral does not necessarily mean gardaí are accused of wrongdoing.

A man in his 30s was found unresponsive at Kildare Garda Station at around 9.30am and later pronounced dead.
Gardaí provided medical assistance, and Fiosrú investigators attended the scene.
Fiosrú said an independent investigation is ongoing and that a referral does not necessarily mean a garda or gardaí are accused of wrongdoing.
