A Google app update is bringing Gemini’s sparkling overlay animation and refreshed input-box styling to Android phones. The visual changes do not alter Gemini’s core functionality, and Google app users can update through the Play Store.

The Gemini overlay is gaining sparkling effects and dots around the “Ask Gemini” box as it opens.
The update also adds subtle shading to the box edges after the animation; the effect is more noticeable in dark mode.
The redesign is being delivered through a Google app update, available via the Play Store; the rollout may not appear immediately for everyone.
